A YouTube recommendation: Media and Children

My sister, a resident Pediatrician, recommended this video after viewing it as part of her grand rounds presentations.  This is a great resource and informational presentation on Media and Children by Dimitri Christakis, pediatrician, parent and researcher.  It is only 15 minutes long but provides a clear understanding of the affects of media on young children.

This was wonderful. I was planning on writing about Mr. Rogers because of his calming effect.

It is odd in this day and age, people think I am strange for limiting the TV in my kids lives.

Yes, my daughters love Mr. Rogers (we found episodes on the PBS website for free). I found it fascinating that there is a link between fast moving videos/shows and risk taking behavior.
