I really didn't expect to be blogging anytime soon, with all that is going on around here- packing, emailing, planning... However, I thought, "why not just take a few photos of some summer activities?" After all, I need a break, mentally and physically, from all the craziness of planning a move.
I am trying to stay focused in helping my oldest continue school work throughout the summer. She loves spending the one on one time with me and enjoys the challenges if offers. We only spend about a half hour with reading and/ or math, just enough.
Here are the singular and plural words and cards she worked on recently. These were made from a phonetic type coloring book and laminated and then I typed up the words. It was many years ago when they were made so I don't have the name of the coloring book. This set served as the introduction to singular and plural and the definitions of the words and their use in written language.
Also, we've been playing Shut the Box, a game of addition. I have her write the equation out and solve it and then she uses either those numbers or alternative numbers (equal the sum) to fold down. It is a fun and simple game, great for addition!
